Loretta L. Ducharme

Loretta L. (Bastarache) Ducharme, 97, of 59 Eastwood Circle, Gardner, formerly of 71 Lake Street, Gardner died peacefully, Friday, April 27, 2012 in the Legend Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner.
Loretta was born in Gardner on November 2, 1914, the daughter of the late Clovis and Alvina (Maillet) Bastarache.
She was employed as a housekeeper by the former Gardner State Hospital for 5 years, retiring in 1970.
Loretta was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and it's Ladies of St. Anne Society. She was also a member of the Gardner Golden Agers.
Loretta enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and watching American Bandstand on television. She liked to travel, especially to Maine and California. Loretta loved drinking coffee and was happiest when spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Joseph H. Ducharme who died September 19, 1993.
Loretta leaves one son, Donald J. Ducharme of Gardner; two daughters, Elaine M. Rachupka and her husband Edmund of Westminster and Diane S. Pellet of Gardner; one brother, Ernest Bastarache and his wife Angie of Escondido, CA; one sister, Yvette Poirier of Gardner; four grandchildren, Craig Rachupka, Karen Pellet-Charland, Lynn Wilson and Tina Bettez; ten great-grandchildren, Zachary, Tyler, Dylan, Olivia, Roger and Katelin Charland, Logan Wilson, Bradley and Megan Bettez and Brooke Rachupka; several nieces,nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Eloi Bastarache and Neri Bastarache; three sisters, Doris Arseneault, Bella Gallant and Viola Jannetti and by a grandson, Dean Rachupka who died in 1999.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 4th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Thursday, May 3rd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
