Lionel J. “Tiger” Arsenault, 78, of Athol, died peacefully, Sunday, February 9, 2020, in Athol Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born in Rexton, New Brunswick, Canada, on June 24, 1941, he was the son of the late Michael and Suzanne (Boucher) Arsenault. He was employed by the former Nichols & Stone Company of Gardner for several years before his retirement in 2008. He was previously employed by GEM Crib of Gardner.
He was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. Lionel was a member of the Acadien Social Club of Gardner. He enjoyed bowling. Lionel spent many years as the caretaker for his parents in their later years.
Lionel is survived by three sisters Alma Roy of Daytona Beach, FL, Therese LeBlanc of Riverview, New Brunswick, and Marie Rose LeBlanc of Athol; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by six brothers, Albert, Phillip, Adelard, Gerry, Andrew, and Joseph LeBlanc.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2020, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, at a later date at the convenience of the family.
A Calling Hour will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
