Linda G. "Spike" (Ashton) Strom, 67, of 446 Parker Street, Gardner, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following a brief illness.
Linda was born in London, England on September 24, 1946, the daughter of the late Chester and Dorothy (Crickx) Ashton. She was raised and received her education in Lowell, MA.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
Linda enjoyed cooking, motorcycle riding, camping and going to Foxwoods Casino. She most enjoyed spending time with her family. Linda was a member of the West End Beagle Club of Gardner and was a bartender many years ago at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 747 of Gardner and the Gardner Fish and Gun Club.
She leaves her husband of 27 years, Leo R. Strom of Gardner; three brothers, Chester Ashton of Lowell, Arthur "Butch" Ashton and his wife Diane of Billerica and Paul Ashton of Lowell; one sister, Shirley Morse and her husband Bruce of Haverhill; two grandchildren, Morgan and Nishia Welch of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Linda was predeceased by her daughter, Holly Welch who died in 1992 and by her grandson, Joshua Welch who died in 2004.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 25th at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday, June 25th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
