Lillian A. (Sargent) Dill, 92, of 32 Hospital Hill Road, Gardner, formerly of 125 Connors Street, Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, October 31, 2015 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home of Gardner, surrounded by her family, following a period of declining health.
She was born in Templeton on August 23, 1923, the daughter of the late Clarence and Annie (McMahon) Sargent.
Lillian was employed by the former Heywood Wakefield Company of Gardner, until her sons' were born. She spent many years as a stay at home mom, and later was employed by Simplex Time Recorder of Gardner as a stock room clerk, retiring in 1985.
She was a member of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner.
Lillian was a very proud mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family unconditionally and her greatest joy was spending time with them. She especially adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who always brought a big smile to her face and made her laugh. Lillian resided at the Binnall House of Gardner for 8 years, a place where she enjoyed living and made many friends. She was always willing to help others, lend a hand to those in need, and to just be a friend to all.
She was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband of 43 years Milton "Nick" Dill who passed away on March 14, 1988.
Lillian leaves two sons, Stanley E. Dill and his wife Judi of Gardner and Bernard V. Dill and his wife Mindy of Gardner; one brother, Robert Sargent of Gardner; one sister, Barbara Williams of Gardner; four grandchildren, David Dill and his wife Gail of Leominster, Scott Dill and his wife Heidi of Baldwinville, Kristen Dill of Tampa, FL and Julie Kenyon and her husband Todd of Tampa, FL; five great-grandchildren, Samantha, Tyler, Jacob and Benjamin Dill and Ryan Kenyon; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Ronald and David Sargent.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 7th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Friday, November 6th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made in Lillian's name to Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Activity Fund, 32 Hospital Hill Road, Gardner, MA 01440.
