Leona (Leclair) Zlotnik, 89, of 19 City Hall Ave., Gardner, died Saturday, July 2nd in the Leo P. LaChance Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing, Gardner, following an illness.
Born in East Templeton on February 24, 1916, she was the daughter of Arthur and Roseanna (Poirier) Leclair.
She was a stitcher employed by LaRoche Brothers Upholstering Co. of Gardner for several years. She was previously employed by the LaPlante Mfg. Co, Inc. of Gardner and also Parkline Mfg. Co.
She was a member of St. Martin's Church, Otter River and its St. Martin's Women's Club.
She gave lessons on rug braiding and also enjoyed knitting, gardening, cooking and playing cards.
Her husband of 65 years, Alexander Zlotnik, died in 2004.
She leaves 2 sons, Michael Zlotnik and wife Mary Ann of Gardner, Dr. Richard Zlotnik and wife Leslie of Shawano, Wisconsin; 1 daughter, Jane M. Zlotnik of Gardner; 1 sister, Alice Goguen of E. Templeton; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jodie, Lynsey and Jonathan Zlotnik; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 2 daughters, Anne and Corinne Zlotnik; 1 grandson, David Zlotnik; 9 brothers, Edmond, Alphonse, William, Peter, Charlie, Camille, George, Albert and Leon Leclair; 4 sisters, Emma Kelly, Pauline Landry, Doris Vautour, and Antoinette Beauregard.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 6th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Martin's Church, 247 State Road, Otter River. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Wednesday, July 6th from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
