Leon L. Kent, 58, of 477 Clark Street, Gardner, died peacefully, Sunday, July 8, 2012 in the Golden Living Center, Fitchburg.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on May 1, 1954, he was the son of Lewis A. and Pearl Y. (Gabree) Campell.
He was a United States Vietnam War Army Veteran and received the National Defense Service Medal, the MM Badge M-16 Rifle and the SS Badge Grenade.
Leon was a member of the Massachusetts Veterans Outreach Center and the Gardner Ten Pins Bowling Association.
Besides his father of Carpentry, CT, he leaves two brothers, Lewis Campbell, Jr. of Willimantic, CT and Harlan Campbell of CT; two sisters, Alice Campbell of Pinellas Park, FL and Colleen Campell of Willimantic, CT; his dear friend and caregiver, Dale Swedberg of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services and burial will be Thursday, July 19th at 2:00 p.m. in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 GlenAllen Street, Winchendon.
There are no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center, Inc., 268 Central Street, Gardner, MA 01440.
Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner is handling the arrangements.
