Leo C. Vautour, 82, a lifelong resident of Gardner, died peacefully Thursday, May 2, 2019 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center of Worcester.
Leo was born in Gardner on March 20, 1937, the son of the late Leo and Margaret (Casey) Vautour. He graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1954.
Leo was a United States Korean War Navy Veteran who proudly served his Country from 1954 through 1959.
He was employed by Bruning Company of Hartford, CT and held the positions of Technical Specialist, Supervisor and Service Manager during his 30 years of employment. Following his career with Bruning Company, Leo worked in the Maintenance Department of Mount Wachusett Community College of Gardner for several years, retiring in 1999.
Leo was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at the casinos. He was a great cook and loved preparing meals for his family.
Leo leaves his wife of nearly 61 years, Ann M. (Duplacy) Vautour of Gardner; son, David A. Vautour and his wife Donna of NH; Celeste A Vautour and her significant other Al Meager of Hubbardston, Denise M. LeBlanc and her husband Paul J. of Gardner; and Donna M. Edberg and her husband William of Dartmouth; sister, Phyllis A. Fountain and her husband William of Vero Beach, FL; grandchildren, Angela Jalbert, Justin Vautour, Stephen Vautour, Amy Gamble, Kasey LeBlanc, Lindsey LeBlanc, Emily Edberg and Grey Edberg; great-grandchildren, Patrick Rolfe, Benjamin Rolfe and Jackson Jalbert; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Paul S. Vautour who died in 2002.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 8th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 7th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
