Leo J. Cormier, 90, formerly of Gardner, died peacefully Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in Baldwinville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Gardner on August 6, 1927, he was the son of the late Alyre and Helene (Goguen) Cormier.
Leo was employed for many years at several local furniture manufacturing companies, including Standard Chair, Temple Stuart and Heywood Wakefield.
He was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
Leo enjoyed doing word search puzzles and was an avid sports fan, especially of hockey. He loved spending time with his family.
Leo was predeceased by his wives, Rita Cormier, Alice Cormier and Bertha Cormier.
He leaves two step-sons, Robert Drisdelle and his wife Joan of Ontario, Canada and Joey Bourque and his wife Rhonda of Maine; one step-daughter, Patricia Richard and her husband John Jansons of Westminster; one brother, Gerry; and one sister, Geraldine; three step-grandsons, Jason Drisdelle, Derek Drisdelle and Mark Richard; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Graveside Services will be held in Chartersville Cemetery, Dieppe, N.B. Canada at a later date.
