Lea Uppgard

July 25, 1920 — October 31, 2015

Lea (Perreault) Uppgard, 95, of 153 Cardinal Drive, Agawam, formerly of 221 Temple Street, Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, October 31, 2015 in Atrium Assisted Living of Agawam, following a period of declining health.
Born in Gardner on July 25, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Marie B. (LeBlanc) Perreault.
Lea was employed by George B. Bent Company, Inc. of Gardner as an upholsterer for 20 years, retiring in 1981. She was previously employed by Rousseau Brothers of Gardner.
She was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner, and its' Ladies of St. Anne Society. Lea was also a member of the Gardner and National Chapters of AARP, the Gardner Golden Agers and the Silver Sneakers.
She enjoyed crafts and traveling.
Lea was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Arvid Uppgard, who died December 18, 1984.
She leaves one daughter, Jeannine Uppgard of Chicopee; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 5th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Thursday, November 5th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, or to Holy Family Academy, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA 01440.
A special 'thank you' is extended to the Atrium for their exceptional and compassionate care.
