Lawrence H. Tresback, Jr., 83, of 51 Hospital Road, Baldwinville, formerly of 125 Connors Street, Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, August 15, 2015 in the Baldwinville Nursing Home.
Born in Gardner on November 2, 1931, he was the son of the late Lawrence H. and Helen (Joslyn) Tresback, Sr.
Lawrence graduated from Gardner High School with the class of 1950.
He was a United States Korean War Air Force Veteran and received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He served for four years in active duty, followed by ten years in the Air Force Reserves.
Lawrence was employed by the former Goodnow Pearson Department Store of Gardner as a Department Manager for 35 years, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church of Gardner, where he served on many committees, was Deacon of the prayer group, and was a member of the Order of St. Luke.
Lawrence enjoyed bowling, traveling and watching television. He loved all sports, and was a Coach for Little League Baseball and a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts. He most enjoyed spending time with his family.
He leaves his wife of 40 years, G. Rachel R. (Croteau) (Monette) Tresback of Gardner; three sons, Gordon Tresback of Watertown, Scott Tresback and his wife Joanne of New Salem and Barry Tresback and his wife Karen of Baldwinville; two stepdaughters, Carol J. Guertin and her husband Robert of Gardner and Sandra Lee Allain and her husband Paul of Gardner; two sisters, Barbara Tresback of Worcester and Joyce Leppanen and her husband Paul of Holden; eight grandchildren, Shawn Horrigan, Melissa Loseman, Donald Dupont, Matthew Dupont, Amanda Tresback, Adam Anderson, Keri-Jo Anderson and Jason Tresback; five step-grandchildren, Tanya Farber, Jason Allain, Susan Guertin, Steven Guertin and Matthew Guertin; several great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Laura Horrigan.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 21st at 1:00 p.m. in Faith Lutheran Church, 627 Green Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner.
