Langham "Lang" Staib, 92, of 335 Nichols Road, Fitchburg, formerly of 34 Mt Jefferson Road, Hubbardston died peacefully Saturday, October 26, 2013 in The Highlands, Fitchburg.
Born in Yonkers, New York on July 6, 1921, he was the son of the late August M. and Carrie A. (Langham) Staib.
Langham was educated in the New York school system in the Long Island area.
Prior to retiring, he was a machinist for many years at Wain-Roy Company, Inc. of Hubbardston.
Langham was a United States WWII Army Veteran and received the Silver Star Medal Order of The Purple Heart Medal, American Defense Service Medal, American Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the Presidential Unit Citation Medal.
He enjoyed raising Scottish terriers, and was a member of Shriners International for many years.
Langham was predeceased by his wife Katherine Staib.
Burial will be held at a later date in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Road, Winchendon.
