Kevin R. Hastings

Kevin R. Hastings, 67, of Phillipston, died peacefully Thursday, February 27, 2025, in his home surrounded by his family after an illness.

Born in Leominster on March 24, 1957, he was the son of the late Robert and Cecile (Rocheleau) Hastings. He graduated from Leominster Trade School with the Class of 1975. Prior to his retirement, Kevin was an owner and electrical engineer of Rocheleau Tool & Die of Fitchburg for 45 years.

Kevin loved living an active lifestyle. He enjoyed being outdoors, mountain biking, fishing, and shooting archery. Kevin also had a passion for weightlifting and Jeeps. Kevin’s greatest joy and most cherished treasure was his family, treasuring all the special memories, especially during their camping trips to Rusnik Campground in Salisbury.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 38 years, Denise (LeBlanc) Hastings of Phillipston, two children, Melanie M. Johnson and her husband Jacob of Baldwinville and Jake R. Hastings and his wife Jackie of Phillipston; five grandchildren, Hunter Johnson, Jack Pelletier, Jameson Johnson, Charlee and Rowan Hastings; a brother, Scott Hastings and his wife Peggy of Templeton; a sister, Donna Boyle and her husband Jerry of Tennessee; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Hastings.

Calling Hours will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial at St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Florence Street, Leominster, MA, will be held at the convenience of the family.
