Kevin R Hamilton

           Beloved brother and friend, Kevin Hamilton, 55, of Otter River, MA died peacefully on Saturday, November 24, 2018 in Heywood Hospital of Gardner. Born May 10, 1963 in Springfield, MA, he was the son of the late James H. Hamilton, Sr. and Anne C. (Tehan) Hamilton. Kevin graduated from Narragansett Regional High School in 1981 and went on to own and operate Hamilton Roofing and Siding for over 37 years. Generous and happy to lend a hand, he often employed friends and family, cherishing the companionship and camaraderie on the job that he received in return. In his life, as in his business, Kevin was adventurous, hard-working and kind. He enjoyed golfing and a good mystery, but he most enjoyed the company of his many, many friends and family members. Those lucky to know and love him knew that when he shook your hand and greeted you with his infectious smile that he really cared about you, that he was glad to see you, and that he was happy to welcome you in with open arms. In a hectic world, he lived with a rare and genuine simplicity. He knew the value of a hard day’s work, a good friend, and a good conversation. Kevin embodied a special kindness in an open-hearted way which was his gift to the world; a gift for which he will be dearly missed, and long remembered.

Kevin leaves his brothers, Sean Hamilton and his wife Diane of Templeton, Thomas Hamilton and his wife Beth of Maynard; his sisters, Mary Mason and her husband Joseph of Baldwinville, Linda Gallant and her husband Albert of Royalston, Patricia Vaillancourt of Gardner and Kathleen Jankauskas of Phillipston. He was Uncle Kevin to Heidi Martin, Steven, David, Tom, Tammy, Lisa and Jeanna Mason, Kate Blair, Mary Gallant-Cote, Joseph Gallant, Chad and Patrick Hamilton, Jamey and Joe Vaillancourt, Adam, Kelly and Tyler Jankauskas and Amelia Hamilton. Kevin also leaves 23 grandnieces and nephews and 2 great grandnieces.  He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, James H. Hamilton, Jr. and Stephen Patrick Hamilton; and by his brother-in-law Thomas F. Jankauskas. 

Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 30th at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Baldwinville.

Calling hours will be held Friday, November 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, Kevin requested that donations in his memory be sent to the Stephen Patrick Hamilton Memorial foundation via the Town of Templeton, 160 Patriots Road, PO Box 620, East Templeton, Mass 01438 which is used for the betterment of Templeton Little League.
