Kevin M. Flanagan

Kevin M. Flanagan, 72, of 293 Pine Street, Gardner went to be with the Lord on September 1st, following a brief illness.

Born in Gardner on November 20, 1937, he was the son of the late John and Irene (Lafarr) Flanagan.

Kevin graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1956. He served in the United States Army Reserves from 1961 thru 1966.

Kevin was Owner/Manager of Bonk's Market in Gardner for 27 years. He loved his customers and always provided them with the little things that made a huge difference to them - including, recipes for their purchases and an occasional funny story. He was previously employed by Casey's Market in Gardner for several years.

He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.

Kevin enjoyed working around the house, cooking and watching his favorite television show "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire". He enjoyed traveling to Wells, Maine and Disney World. Kevin's happiest times were those spent with his family, and he especially enjoyed watching his sons play sports. Kevin will always be remembered for his sense of humor, warm smile and uplifting attitude. He had a positive impact in the lives of those who were fortunate to have known him. He will be greatly missed.

Kevin leaves his wife of 25 years, Judy R. (Melanson) Flanagan of Gardner; two sons, Kevin M. Flanagan, Jr. and Kyle M. Flanagan both of Gardner; three daughters from a previous marriage, Jane, Ann and Martha; three brothers, John Flanagan, Jr of Barrington, RI, Brian Flanagan and his wife Janet of Winchendon, Daniel Flanagan and his wife Janice of Gardner; three sisters, Sister Kathryn Flanagan of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Pittsfield, MA, Maureen Richardson and her husband Thomas of West Mifflin, PA and Sheila Crowell of St. Louis, MO; a sister-in-law, Maria Flanagan of Ware, MA; three aunts, Betty Lafarr of Winchendon, Albina Lindewall and Margaret Triggs of Ireland; a special friend, Sister Barbara Faille of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Pittsfield, MA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, David Flanagan.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 4th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours will be Friday, September 3rd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
