Kenneth F. Heebner

December 26, 1920 — April 9, 2008

Kenneth F. Heebner, 87, of 71 Banner Road, Gardner, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Wednesday, April 9th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

Born in Worcester on December 26, 1920, he was the son of the late Paul G. and Marietta (McElroy) Heebner.

Mr. Heebner attended North High School, Worcester.

Kenneth was a Superintendent employed by H & R 1871 Co., Inc. of Gardner, and Worcester, for 43 years, retiring in 1984.

Mr. Heebner was a WWII United States Army Veteran, and received the Good Conduct Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon.

He was a member of the V.F.W. Ovila Case Post 905 of Gardner, the American Legion Post 129 of Gardner, and a Life Member of the Napoleon Club of Gardner.

Kenneth was an avid golfer and bowler.

He leaves two sons, Paul A. Heebner and his wife Margery of Las Vegas, Nevada and retired U.S. Army Lt. General David K. Heebner and his wife Bonnie of Birmingham, MI; three daughters, Nancy J. Congdon of Rutland, Beth A Kent and her husband Paul of Brookfield and Wendy L. Rosazza and her husband Thomas also of Brookfield; nine grandchildren, Heather (Heebner) Boucher, Suzanne (Congdon) Huard, Jason Heebner, Cheryl (Congdon) Pearl, Kenneth Heebner, Kevin Heebner, Andrew Kent, Julie Kent and Katelyn Perkins; and nine great-grandchildren; a dear friend, Ethel Cormier of Gardner, her daughter, Debbie Cormier and Ethels grandsons, Eric and Kyle Cormier. Kenneth was predeceased by his former spouse, Jean H. (Stockwell) Heebner of Rutland, who died in 2007.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 12th at 2:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Reverend Richard Pryce will officiate. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon, MA at a later date.

Calling hours will be Friday, April 11th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
