Kathryn E. "Peg" Herbert

Kathryn E. "Peg" (Himes) Herbert, 95, 51 Hospital Rd., Baldwinville, and formerly of 61 West Broadway, Gardner, died Wednesday, December 24th in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville, following an illness.
Born in West Pikeland, Pennsylvania on November 8, 1908, she was the daughter of Harry and Emma (Salsman) Himes.
She enjoyed sports, fishing and gardening.
Her husband of 40 years, Gilbert T. Herbert Sr., died in 1978.
She leaves a son, Gilbert "Herb" T. Herbert, Jr. and his wife Mary R. Herbert of Gardner; a daughter, Sandra D. Leal of Albuquerque, NM; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 30th at 6:30 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner. Her ashes will be scattered in the Atlantic Ocean in Wells, ME.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gardner Visiting Nursing Assn., 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440 or to the Baldwinville Nursing Home Activity Fund, 51 Hospital Road, Baldwinville, MA 01436.
