Katharine A. Cormier

Katharine A. (Balg) Cormier, 44, of 197 Nichols Street, Gardner, died Wednesday, November 28th in her residence surrounded by family following a long battle with cancer.

She was born in Leominster on September 14, 1963, the daughter of George and Pearl (LeBlanc) Balg.

Katharine was a Nurses Aide for various Nursing Homes in the area until retiring in 2004.

She enjoyed crocheting and playing yahtzee.

Besides her mother, Pearl (LeBlanc) Balg of Gardner, she leaves her husband of 11 years, Robert J. Cormier of Gardner; three sons, Randy L. Zonghetti of Orlando, FL, Michael R. Cormier of Eustis, FL, and Christopher J. Balg and his wife Britney of Gardner; one daughter, Tanya A. Zonghetti of Gardner; two brothers, Richard LeBlanc and Douglas Balg of Riceville, TN; two sisters, Rhonda I. Root and her husband Joseph of Eustis, FL and Heidi Balg of Fort Lauderdale, FL; three grandchildren, Aydin J. Balg of Gardner, Serenity L. Shell of Leesburg, FL and Zander R. Cormier of Eustis, FL; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1st at 1:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

A calling hour in the funeral home will be Saturday, December 1st from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
