Karen Ann Bourgeois

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Ann Bourgeois. At the age of 62, Karen went to be with our Lord on Thursday, October 21, 2021.

Known to many as “KK,” she lived her entire life in Gardner, Massachusetts. She graduated from Gardner High School and Mount Wachusett Community College. She worked for many years in Medical Records at Heywood Hospital until her disability ended her working career in 2012. KK courageously fought to overcome the challenges presented by a brain tumor; through multiple surgeries, she beat the odds for 40 years. She enjoyed Polka music, trivia, the Boston Red Sox, and sharing what she knew of the Polish language with others. KK was a loving soul who always wanted to help others in need.

Karen is survived by her mother, Virginia Bourgeois; her sister, Nancy Wyson and her husband Eric and daughters, Meagan and Grace; her sister, Linda Nivala and her husband Kevin and daughter, Courtney; and sister, Sandra Davis and her husband Greg and son, Robin.

Karen was predeceased by her father, Donald Bourgeois, in 2019. Karen is now resting free from pain in the presence of God and her father. The family would like to thank the Westford House and Serenity Hospice Care for their care and support during her final days on this Earth.

A Calling Hour will be held Friday, October 29, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 29, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.
