Judith M. "Judy" (Babineau) Franklin, 63, of 55 Bancroft St., Gardner died Tuesday, October 26th in the Leo P. LaChance Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing, Gardner, following an illness.
Born in Gardner on May 14, 1941, she was the daughter of Amedee and Laurina (Couture) Babineau.
She was a Telecommunications operator at Heywood Hospital, Gardner for 40 years, retiring in 2003 because of illness.
She was a 1959 graduate of Gardner High School and received a Travel Agent degree from Quinsigamond Community College, Worcester.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and enjoyed traveling throughout New England and Arizona. She especially loved Cape Cod's Seashore. Mrs. Franklin also enjoyed attending theater productions in Boston and also in Gardner.
She leaves her husband of 41 years, Robert J. Franklin of Gardner; 1 son, Christopher J. Franklin and wife Kellee of Barre; 1 daughter, Noreen F. Simmons and husband Charles of West Hartford, CT; 1 sister, Rachel Bedard of Gorham, ME; 4 grandchildren, Grace and Lily Franklin, Weller and Nathaniel Simmons; her motherin-law, Noella M. (Mailloux) (Franklin) Harris of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 30th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Following cremation burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, October 29th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
