Judith C. (Callahan) Dymek, 74, of Gardner, died peacefully Thursday, May 10, 2012 in UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester, following a short illness.
Judy was born in Hanover, NH on July 15, 1937, the daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Murphy) Callahan. She relocated to Gardner with her family in her teenage years and had resided in Gardner ever since.
She was a 1955 graduate of Gardner High School.
Judy was employed for many years at Heywood Hospital as the Director of Admitting and later finished her career in the office of Dr. James Faust and then Dr. Paul Carpentier. She also worked part-time at Shack's Clothing Store in Fitchburg for many years.
After her retirement, Judy enjoyed reading and watching sporting events on television. She was happiest spending time with her family, especially at their long-time family home on Queen Lake in Phillipston.
She was an extremely warm and wonderful woman with a keen sense of humor who will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family. She was great fun to be around and her death will leave a permanent void in many lives.
Judy leaves one daughter, Karen Morgan and her husband Marc of Gardner; two sons, Terrence Dymek and his wife Diane of Waltham, Dr. Timothy Dymek and his wife Carol of Gardner; a brother, James Callahan of Fort Myers, FL; 4 grandchildren, Zachary and Benjamin Dymek of Waltham, Kasja and Teagan Dymek of Gardner.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, May 16th at 3:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be held at a later date.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Wednesday, May 16th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
