Judith M. (Merchant) Charette, 69, of Gardner, died peacefully Wednesday, November 27, 2024, in UMass Memorial Medical Center—University Campus, Worcester, after an illness. 

Born in Groton on October 17, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Augustus "Gus" and Margaret (Abell) Beaudet. After graduating from high school, Judith had a long career working as a certified nursing assistant, a career she took great pride in, at Wachusett Manor of Gardner for many years and the Highlands of Fitchburg until her retirement. 

Judith was a “computer wizard” who loved working on and building computers. Her greatest joy was her family, and she treasured the time she spent with them and the memories she shared, especially with her grandchildren. 

Judith is survived by her son, Rene O. Charette II of Gardner; daughter, Corrine M. Charette of Gardner; a stepson, Christopher Charette of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Olivia, and Mackenzie Charette; six step-grandchildren, Stephanie Johnson, Jocelyn Fowler, Bryce, Elizabeth, Eli and Hannah Charette; four sisters, her twin sister, Janice Mallet and her husband Paul of Tennessee, Annette Fredricksen and her husband Eric of Tennessee, Linda O’Connor of Massachusetts, Joan Snyder of Massachusetts; a brother, Robert Merchant and his wife Mary Lou of Maine; several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Rene O. Charette, who died in 2022; a stepdaughter, Susan Johnson; and a brother, Michael Merchant. 

Graveside Services at Wildwood Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA, will be private and held at the family's convenience.
