Josephine "Josie" (Griczika) Carlson, 93, of Gardner, died peacefully Tuesday, November 25, 2014 in her residence after being stricken ill.
Born in Gardner on March 11, 1921, she was the son of the late Francis and Stephania (Hadasewicz) Griczika.
Josephine graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1939.
She was employed by S. Bent and Brothers, Inc. of Gardner as a furniture striper for many years, retiring in 1991. She was previously employed by Florence Stove Company of Gardner.
Josephine was a member of St. Joseph's Church of Gardner.
She enjoyed golfing, working in her yard and spending time with her family.
Josephine was predeceased by her husband of Thure Carlson who died in 1981.
She leaves two brothers, Frank Griczika of Gardner and Bronie Griczika of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Stephen Griczika and one sister, Amelia Hooper.
Graveside Services will be held Friday, December 12th at 1:30 p.m. in St. John's Cemetery, West Street, Gardner.

Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner is handling the arrangements.
