Joseph O. Richard Sr., 93, of Templeton, died unexpectedly Friday, October 25, 2024, in his home.
Born in Saint-Antoine, New Brunswick, Canada, in 1930, he was the son of the late Jude and Exelda (Cormier) Richard. Joseph was a United States Army Korean War Veteran serving from 1952 to 1953. He was a self-employed carpenter for many years until his retirement.
Joe was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish of Gardner, practicing at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. Joe enjoyed going deep sea fishing. His greatest joy was his family, treasuring the time spent with them.
Joe is survived by his three sons, Roger Richard of Templeton, Thomas Richard and his wife Lynn of Athol, and Joseph Richard Jr. of Templeton; two grandchildren, Crystal and David Richard; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Doris M. (Bourque) Richard; three brothers, Ernest, Omer, and Zoet Richard; and two sisters, Marie Boucher and Noella Richard.
Graveside Services at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA, will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
