Joseph C. Pilesky, 90, of 116 Church Street, Gardner died Friday, July 3, 2015 in Heywood Hospital of Gardner following a brief illness.
Joseph was born in Fitchburg on February 19, 1925, the son of the late Antany and Banaditka (Labuk) Pilesky.
He was a United States WWII Army Veteran and received the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Distinguished Unit Badge.
Joseph was employed for 42 years by James River Paper Company of Fitchburg as a beater engineer, retiring in 1987.
He enjoyed bowling, playing darts and especially loved spending time with his family.
Joseph was a lifetime member of the British American Club of Fitchburg.
Joseph was predeceased by his wife Lauraine (Cormier) Pilesky who died in 1996.
He leaves two sons, Frank J. Pilesky of Fitchburg and Joseph A. Pilesky of Fitchburg; five daughters, Monica R. Shanholtz of Gardner, Mona L. Leclerc and her husband Daniel of Vero Beach, FL, Mary A. Lyman of Gardner, Cathy Dallary of Leominster and Karen Holstrom and her husband Mark of Leominster; eleven grandchildren, Kristine, Lisa, Brian, Erin, James, Alexander, Joseph, Aurelia, Charles, Anthony and Jenny; twelve great-grandchildren, Rachael, Rebekka, Stephanie, Aimee, Aidan, Christopher, Maddox, Demitri, Zyanya, Tobias, Ryan and Ava; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Jessica; one brother, Francis Pilesky; and one sister, Ellen Pierce.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 9th at 5:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be held at a later date in St. Bernard's Cemetery of Fitchburg.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, July 9th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
