Joseph D. "Farmer" Langlois, 50 of 75 Brook Lane, Gardner, died Sunday, April 8th in his residence following a long battle with Lou Gehrigs disease.
Born in Gardner on December 14, 1956, he was the son of Charles E. and M. Paulette (Allaire) Langlois of Gardner.
Joseph was the Superintendent of the Bridges and Highway Department of Travis County in Austin, Texas for 18 years, until his retirement due to illness in 2005.
He graduated from Gardner High School with the class of 1974.
Joseph was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner. He enjoyed working around the house, and playing tennis and golf. He was an avid Texas Longhorns Fan.
He was predeceased by his wife of three years, Jayne L. (Clarke) Langlois who died March 22, 2003.
Besides his parents of Gardner, he leaves a son, Jacob R. Langlois of Gardner; one brother, Pierre R. Langlois and his wife Leyla of Ledyard, CT; two sisters, Suzanne M. Walker and her husband Wayne of Westminster and Michelle E. Arsenault and her husband Kenneth of Gardner, with whom he lived; one sister-in-law, Maria (Magliacane) Langlois of Athol; his mother and father-in-law, Fred and Joan Clarke of Buda, Texas; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert C. Langlois, who died March 27, 2002.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 13th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, with a Mass at 9:30 am in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday, April 12th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
