Joseph A. "Lil Joe" Gallant, 47, of 207 North Main Street, Templeton, died peacefully Saturday, February 22, 2014 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Belmont Street, Worcester following a long illness.
Born in Gardner on February 27, 1966, he was the son of Joseph and Mary (Riley) Gallant.
Joseph was a self-employed carpenter and roofer for many years, retiring 10 years ago due to disability. He was previously employed by Benoit Construction.
Joseph was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner. He was also a member of the Gardner Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He enjoyed raising pigeons with his father, carpentry and loved spending time with his daughter, grandchildren and parents.
Besides his parents, Joseph and Mary (Riley) Gallant of Gardner; Joseph leaves one daughter, Stephanie Hervan and her husband Matt of Templeton; two grandchildren, Mikai Asby and Murphy Gallant; five aunts, Laura Smith of Templeton, Melissa Kent of Gardner, Irene Gauthier of Gardner, Theresa Leger of Gardner and Yvette Aube of Gardner; three uncles, Donald Riley of Maryland, Darius Riley of Maryland and Raymond Riley of Arizona; and several cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 1st at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.
A calling hour will be Saturday, March 1st from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
