Joseph Delucia, 83, of 94 Summer Street, Fitchburg, died Sunday, February 8th in Hillcrest Nursing Center, Fitchburg, following a brief illness.
Born in New Haven, Ct on October 27, 1925, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Foliveo) Delucia.
Joseph was a furniture worker and was employed by various companies throughout the area.
Joseph was a "true Italian", and loved Italian food from the North End in Boston. Music was his passion, especially Big Band Music. Joseph enjoyed ballroom dancing. He loved football and baseball and was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.
Joseph was a WWII United States Army Veteran.
He leaves one daughter, Shelley A. Gagnon and her husband Thomas of Ashburnham; one granddaughter, Melissa Gagnon of Ashburnham; and one great-granddaughter, McKenzie Dudley of Ashburnham. Joseph was predeceased by one brother, Fred Delucia; three sisters, Emma Piskatolie, Julia DeCapule and Josephine Delucia. He was also predeceased by his former wife, the former Marylou Curtis.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 12th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Thursday, February 12th from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
