Joseph Yvon Arsenault, 69, of Gardner, formerly of New York City, NY, died peacefully Thursday, January 14, 2021, in UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester, after an illness.
Born in Saint-Éleuthére, Quebec, Canada, on April 2, 1951, he was the son of Gerald J. Arsenault and the late Yvette G. (Beaulieu) Arsenault. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in Fitchburg with the Class of 1969 and would receive his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Massachusetts in 1973. Joseph was an editor and writer for several national magazines covering entertainment and arts, based in New York City. He wrote poetry and revised books. Joseph was also a typesetting entrepreneur in Staten Island for several years. Later in life, he was involved in estate management as a legal secretary for a nursing home conglomerate.
Joseph was a parishioner of St. Mary’s the Virgin of New York City and Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. He was a member of the GMHC Organization of New York City.
Besides his father, Gerald J. Arsenault of Gardner, Joseph is survived by several cousins.
Funeral Services will be held, Saturday, February 6, 2021, with a Mass at 11:00a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA 01440. Burial will be held at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner.
