Joseph Francis "Joe" Agnelli, 80, of 51 Emerald Street, Gardner died peacefully, Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester, surrounded by his family.
Born in Gardner on March 24, 1932, he was the son of the late Joseph and Clara Viola (Caisse) Agnelli.
Prior to retiring in 1996, Joseph was a furniture maker employed for eighteen years by Ipswich Industries of Winchendon. He was previously employed by Standard Chair of Gardner and L & Z Kamman Company of Gardner.
Joseph was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Gardner.
He was a United States Korean War Air Force Veteran.
He enjoyed fishing, playing pinochle and was a Class A Champion candlepin bowler. Joseph spent many years playing softball for various teams in the City of Gardner. He was an avid Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins and New England Patriots fan. He also enjoyed watching history and military documentaries.
He leaves his wife of 57 years, Denise A. (Tanguay) Agnelli of Gardner; five sons, Joseph F. Agnelli, Jr. and his wife Lee of Shrewsbury, Steve M. Agnelli and his wife Jane of Manchester, CT, Alan L. Agnelli of Gardner, Anthony J. Agnelli and his wife Kelly of Gardner and Philip M. Agnelli and his wife Lisa of Gardner; one daughter, Linda M. Agnelli of Gardner; three brothers, Larry Agnelli of Gardner, James Agnelli and his wife Bonnie of Winchendon and Gary Agnelli and his wife Ruth of Jupiter, FL; four sisters, Victoria Kirouac of Fitchburg, Dolores Garno and her husband Richard of Winchendon, Joanne Kuehl and her husband Jack of Templeton and Angeline Charbonneau and her husband Leonard of Winchendon; six grandchildren, Joseph F. Agnelli III, Catherine N. Hall, April M. Agnelli, Thomas M. Agnelli, Anthony J. Agnelli, Jr. and Emily Y. Agnelli; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Richard Agnelli and Thomas Agnelli.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 4th at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Friday, August 3rd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
