John A. Russo

John A. Russo, 83, of 229 Washington Street, Gardner died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner following an illness.
Born in Boston on September 29, 1927, he was the son of the late Alphonse and Amelia (DeMasi) Russo.
John graduated from Roxbury High School with the Class of 1943. He attended Northeastern University in Boston and Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner.
Prior to retiring in 1997, John was a Research Chemist employed by W.R. Grace Company in Woburn for ten years. He was previously employed by Stowe Woodward Company in Newton for 18 years.
John was a United States WWII Marine Corps Veteran.
He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Patricia M. (Chagnon) Russo, who died June 16, 1999.
John leaves his dear friend, Rose I. Giammalvo of Fitchburg; two nephews, two nieces and one cousin. He was predeceased by one brother, Joseph Russo and by one sister, Mary Riscelle.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 19th at 2:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Saturday, February 19th from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
