John E. May, Jr., 53, of Gardner, died unexpectedly, Thursday, April 1, 2021, in his residence.

Born in Springfield, VT, on December 18, 1967, he was the son of Jeanne (Smith) May and the late John E. May, Sr. John was a laborer employed by All in One & Moore of West Boylston for several years, where he worked on construction and foundations.

John enjoyed bowling and fishing. He loved going to the gym and working out. But the time that John loved and cherished the most was spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Besides his mother Jeanne (Smith) May of Gardner; his ex-wife and close friend Julie A. May of Gardner; his love Caroline Laporte; two sons, Joshua May of Weymouth and Michael Shaw and his significant other Samantha Thebodeau of Gardner; four daughters, Stephanie Choquette and her husband Michael of Athol, Jennifer May of Ayer, Desiree Shaw and her significant other Richie Bednarczyk of Baldwinville, and Mariah May of Gardner; three stepchildren, Kayla Goulet and her significant other Dustin Wilson of Gardner, Hannah Goulet of Gardner, and Zack Laporte and his wife Kiana of Andover; a brother, Philip May and his wife Jo-Ann of Winchendon; a sister, Kathy Rheault and her fiancé Jim Ramsdell of Ashby; sixteen grandchildren, Khloe, Arabella, Sylas, Ivyanah, Josiah, Nolan, Mia, Boo-Boo, Jackson, Isaiah, Sophia, Patricia, Jordon, Michael, Dixie, Cameron and Greyson; a niece, Kayla Rheault; a nephew, Ryan May; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
