John M. MacMillan

John M. "Mickey" MacMillan, 63, of 196 Franklin Rd., Fitchburg, died Saturday, May 21st in his residence following a long illness.
Born in Leominster on December 23, 1941, he was the son of Alexander and Margaret (McBride) MacMillan.
He was employed by Ermini Tool & Die Co. of Leominster for 2 years, retiring in 2001. He was previously employed as a maintenance worker by C & W Fabricators of Gardner for 35 years.
He was a member of St. Anthony di Padua Church, Fitchburg. He enjoyed sports, especially the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and the Bruins. He liked to fish and play cribbage.
Mr. MacMillan was a U.S. Navy veteran and received the Good Conduct Medal.
He leaves his wife of 43 years, Rita J. (LeBlanc) MacMillan of Fitchburg; 3 sons, John D. MacMillan and wife Cynthia of Gardner; Scott A. MacMillan and wife Dora of Bridgewater, Shawn M. MacMillan and wife Janie of New Ipswich, NH; 1 daughter, Kelly J. Valiton and husband Stephen of Westminster; 2 sisters, Ellen Marcello of Spring Hill, FL, Kathleen MacMillan of Leominster; 9 grandchildren, 1 aunt Anna MacMillan, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Thomas MacMillan of Leominster who died in 1968 during the Vietnam War and 2 sisters, Alexzenia McMilleon of Gardner and Mary Burpee of Fitchburg.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 27th @ 1:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Friday, May 27th from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Diversified Nursing Assn., Hospice Program, 317 Nichols Road, Fitchburg, MA 01420.
