John W. Lawrence, 65, of 525 East County Road, Rutland died Friday, December 14, 2012 in the Legend Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Gardner, following a brief illness.
John was born in Worcester on December 21, 1946, son of the late Harold and Ellen (Fyrberg) Lawrence.
He graduated in 1965 from Worcester High School of Commerce, Worcester.
John was employed by the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier in the town of Hubbardston for the past 24 years, retiring in 2011.
He was a United States Vietnam War Army Veteran and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Marksman M-14 Badge.
John leaves four daughters, whom he loved being a father to and would do anything for; Shelby Conti and her husband Gary of North Andover, Shannon Lange and her husband Steve of South Barre, Taylor Lawrence of Rutland and Sasha Lawrence of Sterling; four sisters, June Leahy and her husband John of Newbern, NC, Judy Chipman and her husband William of Chiefland, FL, Joan Crocker and her husband Albert of Worcester and Jean Dellasanta and her husband John of Worcester; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside Services will be held at a later date.
