John L. “Lee” Griffin, Jr., 73, of Fitzwilliam, NH, formerly of Gardner, died unexpectedly at home Saturday, May 4, 2019.
Born in Somerville, MA on December 18, 1945, he was the son of the late John L. Griffin, Sr. and Anne (Leonard) Griffin.
John graduated from Somerville High School with the Class of 1963 and later attended Mount Wachusett Community College of Gardner. He was a United States Army Veteran. John was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
Prior to retiring recently, John was a Counselor employed by McLean Ambulatory Treatment Center at Naukeag of Ashburnham and Petersham for 20 years. He was previously a Police Officer with the City of Gardner for 10 years.
John was an artist of watercolor paintings, an avid reader of non-fiction books, and he loved history and politics.
John leaves his daughters, Kerri (Griffin) Bouchard and her husband Brian of Glen Burnie, MD, and Mandi (Griffin) Bouchard and her husband Gary of Fort Meade, MD; grandchildren, Tyler Griffin, Brianna Bouchard, Ethan Bouchard, Ryan Bouchard and Danny Bouchard; nephews, Chris and James Griffin; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Darlene (Stolgitis) Griffin; and by his brothers, James Griffin, David Griffin and Timothy Griffin.
A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, May 14th at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, West Street, Gardner.
There are no calling hours. Family and friends are asked to report directly to the Church the morning of services.
