Joanne (Kosakowski) Wheeler, 64, of Gardner, formerly of Templeton, died on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, in Wachusett Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Born in Gardner on January 5, 1958, she was the daughter of the late John and Viola (Duprey) Kosakowski. She graduated from Narragansett Regional High School with the Class of 1976 and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work from Assumption College with the Class of 1980. Joanne was a Social Worker employed by Quabbin Valley Healthcare of Athol for 20-years prior to her retirement in 2016, due to her illness.
Joanne was a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Church of Baldwinville. She loved to golf and was in the Women’s League at Templewood Golf Course. Joanne loved to work in her gardens around her house. Joanne loved to spend time with her family and friends and cherished times spent with them.
Joanne is survived by her sister, Patricia Daigle of Winchendon; sister-in-law, Edith Kosakowski of Winchendon; cousin, Paul Fredette of Templeton; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Kosakowski; and brother-in-law, Patrick Daigle.
A special thank you goes to all of Jo’s close friends who stayed with her around the clock in her last days before God welcomed her into heaven.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 6, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, Bridge Street, Baldwinville, MA.
There are no calling hours.
