Joanne A Raymond

Joanne A. “Charlie” (Cordeau) (McCarthy) Raymond, 78, of Gardner, died peacefully Sunday, June 9, 2019, in her home.

Born in Boston on June 4, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Alfreda (Perkins) Cordeau. Joanne graduated from Everett High School with the Class of 1958. She was a Secretary employed by Cross Country Automotive of Medford for several years, retiring in 2000. She was previously a Legal Secretary for the Law Office of Alfred P. Farese of Everett.

Joanne enjoyed playing bingo, candlepin bowling; and she was a huge fan of the Boston Bruins. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Joanne was a member of the Elks Lodge in Wakefield, MA.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph McCarthy who died in 1973; and by her significant other of 25 years, Jack Merrill who died in 2009.

Joanne leaves her husband of 9 years, Philip H. Raymond of Gardner; sons, Douglas McCarthy and his wife Jean of Bradford, MA, and Derek McCarthy of Gardner; daughters, Michelle Sweeney of Gardner, and Kathleen Hayes and her husband Michael of Fort Myers Beach, FL; stepsons, Philip Raymond, Jr of Thompson, ND, and James Raymond of Winchendon; stepdaughters, Jacqueline Stuller and her husband Earl Dean of Alexandria, VA, Mary Raymond of Gardner, Melissa Cruise and her husband Richard of Texarkana, AR, and Rebecca Cormier of Winchendon; sisters, Judy Mantell and her husband Peter of Kingwood, TX, and Janice Hoyt and her husband Richard of Plymouth, MA; grandchildren, Erin Sweeney, Kelly Hayes, Colleen Hayes, Kayla McCarthy and Brendan McCarthy; step-grandchildren, Zane Stuller, Derek Stuller, Kayleigh Stuller, Devon Raymond, Amberleigh Cruise and Cadence Cormier; several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Calling hours will be held Sunday, June 16th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.

Graveside Services will be held Monday, June 17th at 1:00 p.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA.
