Joanne M. Morrissey

Joanne M. (Jacques) Morrissey, 76, of Gardner, died peacefully Friday, March 4, 2022, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, with her family by her side after a brief illness.

Born in Gardner on November 12, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Arthur H. and Mercedes (Dorval) Jacques. She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1963. Joanne was a Secretary employed by Venning & Jacques of Gardner for over 20-years prior to her retirement.

Joanne was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner, where she was a member of its Ladies of St. Anne Society, a Eucharistic Minister, and was a former member of its choir. She enjoyed reading and listening to music. Joanne was an avid sports fan, especially of her Boston Red Sox. She enjoyed baking and going out to breakfast and dinners with family and friends. Joanne's greatest enjoyment came when she was with her family, always treasuring the time they spent together.

Joanne is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen D. Boudreau of Gardner and Lynn F. Morrissey of Leominster; a granddaughter, Olivia Eileen Boudreau; a sister, Denise A. Babineau and her husband Stephen of Phillipston; a brother, Philip W. Jacques and his wife Tanya of Gardner; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband of 43-years, John F. Morrissey, who died in 2015; and a brother, David P. Jacques; and two nephews, Jonathan Landry and Daniel Jacques.

The family would like to thank all the staff in the Heywood ICU for the loving and compassionate care they provided.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 11, 2022, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA, will be held at a later date.

Calling Hours will be held Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
