Joanna L Tilton

Joanna L. (Walker) Tilton, 69, of Gardner, died peacefully Friday, June 29, 2018 in Heywood Hospital of Gardner.

            Born in Boston, MA on September 15, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Adele (Edwards) Walker.

            Joanna graduated from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School of Sudbury with the Class of 1966.

            She was a Cafeteria Worker employed by the Town of Maynard Public School Department for three years, retiring in 1985.

            Joanna enjoyed playing Bingo and cards; and she was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. Joanna’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

            She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Richard M. Tilton, who died in 2014.

            Joanna leaves one son, Brian M. McCarthy, Jr. and his girlfriend Jennifer Buckingham of Leominster; one daughter, Michele L. Cunio and her husband Brian of Pepperell; two grandchildren, Samantha and Tyler Cunio; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Barbara.

            Graveside Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
