Joan A Goguen

Joan A. (Robinson) Goguen, 78, of 125 Connors Street, Gardner died Sunday, March 3, 2013 in Lutheran Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center, Worcester, surrounded by her family following a long illness.
Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada on June 20, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Winifred (Yetman) Robinson.
Joan was a Mental Health Worker-Supervisor employed by Gardner State Hospital Rutland State Hospital and Worcester State Hospital for many years, retiring in 1993.
She received her GED from Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner in 1993.
Joan was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner.
She enjoyed cooking, knitting, playing bingo and traveling. Joan was an animal lover, who adored her cats.
She was a member of the Gardner Chapter of AARP, the Gardner Golden Agers and was also a volunteer at the Gardner Golden Agers.
Joan was predeceased by her husband of 28 years, Jean B. Goguen, who died June 3, 1982.
She leaves one daughter, Gloria J. Sears-Sobkowich and her husband Brett of Worcester; one son, John D. Goguen and his wife Nancy of Leominster; one brother, Robert Sears and his wife Julie of Toronto, Canada; one sister, Ida Connors of St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Robinson and Jeanie Sears both of St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Kevin Robinson and Frank Sears; and by one sister, Winifred Robinson.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 7th at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be Thursday, March 7th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
