Jennie A. Lajoie

Jennie A. (Laitinen) Lajoie, 83, of 43 Toby St., Gardner died Thursday, January 13th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner following an illness.
Born in Gardner on December 17, 1921, she was the daughter of Tobias and Martha (Minkkinen) Laitinen.
She was a bookkeeper at Lajoie's Used Auto Parts, Inc. of Gardner from 1949 to 1995. Prior to World War II she worked as bookkeeper for the former Florence Stove Co. of Gardner.
She completed her elementary education in Hubbardston prior to moving to Gardner in 1935. She was a 1940 graduate of Gardner High School and graduated from Bay Path Business School in Springfield.
She enjoyed crocheting, reading, scrabble and crossword puzzles.
Her husband of 53 years, Raymond R. Lajoie died in 1996.
She leaves 3 sons, Raymond R. Lajoie and friend Barbara Collins of Hubbardston, David C. Lajoie and wife Tena of Shrewsbury, John T. Lajoie and wife Kelley of Ashburnham; 3 daughters, Sally J. Lajoie of Gardner, Margaret A. Pacheco and husband Jessie of Albuquerque, NM, Sandra P. Lajoie and friend Keith Hayes of Royalston; 1 sister, Sally LaCoss of Engelwood, CA; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 3 nephews, 1 niece and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 17th @ 10:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday, January 16th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
