Jennie M. (Dembek) Collier, 83, of 12 School Street, Templeton, died peacefully Tuesday, February 2nd in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, surrounded by her family.
Born in Gardner on March 30, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Sophie (Morse) Dembek.
Prior to retiring in 1988, Jennie was a stitcher/seamstress for Collier Keyworth Co. of Gardner for 30 years. She was previously employed by O.W. Siebert of Gardner and American Fiber of Gardner.
Jennie was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church of Baldwinville.
Her hobbies included hunting, fishing, knitting, home stitching and crocheting. She enjoyed watching The Price is Right, CSI, soap operas and golf on television. Jennie also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States.
She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Harry Collier, who died in 1999.
Jennie leaves two sons, Fred Dembek and Joseph Collier both of Anaheim, CA; one daughter, Georgia M. Thompson and her husband George of Winchendon; three brothers, Joseph Dembek of Templeton, Victor Dembek and his wife Ruby of Templeton and Leo Dembek and his wife Claire of Largo, FL; one sister, Francis Pardee and her husband Eben of Gardner; five grandchildren, Carl Dembek, Brenda Dembek, Tina Luksha, William Thompson and Harry Collier; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by four brothers, Chester, Anthony Stanley and Richard Dembek and by one sister, Alice Ducharme.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 5th at 1:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Rev. Francis A. Roberge of St. Vincent de Paul Church will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Baldwinville.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Friday, February 5th from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
