Jeannine E. Savoie

Jeannine E. (Leger) Savoie, 88, of Gardner, formerly of Orange, died peacefully Sunday, May 15, 2022, at home with her family by her side.

Born in Gardner on November 7, 1933, she was the daughter of the late George and Marie (Cormier) Leger. Jeannine was an Assembler employed by Data General of Natick for several years prior to her retirement. She previously worked as a hairdresser in the 1960s.

Jeannine was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. She loved people and was always able to start up a conversation and have a good time. Jeannine also enjoyed playing card games.

Jeannine is survived by her daughter, Diane Ballweg and her husband Keith of Gardner; two sons, Timothy Savoie of Nashua, NH, and Ricky Savoie of Nashville, TN; two grandchildren, Tommy Ventola and Olivia Savoie; a sister Rose Marie Perini of Gardner; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by a son, Michael Savoie; and three sisters, Georgette Landry, Dolores O’Brien, and Edith Leger.

The family would like to thank Vickie from the French Connection. A special thank you to the Care Central VNA and Hospice team:  Diane, Ron, Stephanie, Joi, Taylor, Carol Ann, Megan and all of the aides for the loving and compassionate care they provided Jeannine.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 20, 2022, at 12:30 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.

Calling Hours will be held Friday, May 20, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Care Central VNA and Hospice, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440, or to Wachusett Rehabilitation and Nursing Center Activity Fund, 32 Hospital Hill Road, Gardner, MA 01440. Please reference in memory of Jeannine E. Savoie.
