Jeannette C. (Lacroix) Scheurer, 86, of 268 South Road, Templeton, died peacefully Friday, August 27th in her residence following a long illness, surrounded by her family.
Born in Worcester on July 30, 1924, she was the daughter of Joseph and Adelia (Boudreau) Lacroix.
Jeannette was a secretary last employed by her husband, Dr. Michel Scheurer, Optometrist, for several years. She was previously a secretary at Durand Candy Co. of Boston.
She was a 1942 graduate of Holy Name High School in Worcester. She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Templeton. Mrs. Scheurer enjoyed traveling, square dancing, theater and loved people, especially her family. She had a great sense of humor and had an uncanny way of remembering people's birthdays along with their favorite articles of clothing.
Her husband of 54 years, Michel Christian Scheurer died in 2000.
She leaves 8 sons, Robert Paul Scheurer and his wife Lil of Monmouth, ME, Roger Gerard Scheurer and his wife Denise of Lee, MA, Paul Christian Scheurer and his wife Patricia of Littleton, CO, Philip Alan Scheurer and his wife Michelle of Templeton, James Bruce Scheurer of Templeton, Christopher John Scheurer of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Gregory Francis Scheurer and his wife Suzanne of Mystic, CT, Scott Michel Scheurer and his wife Bonnie of Naples, FL; 3 daughters, Jeanne Cecile Pepera of Manlius, NY, Michelle Anne Chartier and her husband Stephen of Templeton, Anne Marie Granville of New Town, CT; 1 sister, Mabel Hmura and her husband Raymond of Naples, FL; 33 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Michel Scheurer who died in 1958 and 3 sisters, Gertrude Richard, Florence Desaulniers and Claire Brunelle.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 30th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 25 Lake Ave., E. Templeton. Burial in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, DC will be at a later date.
