Jeannette B. "Jen" (Dery) Lajoie, 86, of 194 Central Street, formerly of Jean Street, Gardner, died peacefully Tuesday, April 7th in her residence following an illness.
Born in Dudley on February 19, 1923, she was the daughter of Adelard and Anna (LaChance) Dery.
Jeannette was a high school graduate and was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.
Jeannette was a golfer and enjoyed cooking for her family, especially during their vacations in York Beach, Maine. She was interested in watching the local news stations, cooking programs and Dr. Robert Schuller, founder of the Crystal Cathedral in California.
Mrs. Lajoie leaves her husband of 63 years, Roger A. Lajoie of Gardner; 3 daughters, Janine T. Bebas and her husband, John of West Boylston, Denise A. Bratkon and her husband Vince of Worcester, Paulette L. Leger and her husband James of Rindge, NH; a brother, Rev. Henry Dery of Bloomfield, CT; 6 grandchildren, Julie Offord, Nick and Christina Bebas, Stephanie LaCroix, Jennifer Jones and Michelle Leger; 5 great-grandchildren, Michael and Shelby Offord, Sierra LaCroix, Allison and Jonathan Lind; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Alice Sorel and Roseanna Bonnette.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 11th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Libera Service at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, April 10th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
