Jeanne Y. (Vallee) Gabis, 90, of Gardner, died Thursday, April 26th in Health Alliance Hospital, Leominster, following a short illness.
Born in Gardner on January 11, 1917, she was the daughter of Homidas and Florida (Chartier) Vallee.
Mrs. Gabis was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner.
She was a homemaker, and enjoyed singing, crocheting, traveling and watching Christian television shows. She also was an avid card player, especially enjoying pitch and canasta.
Mrs. Gabis was predeceased by her husband Raymond Gabis, who died in 2004.
She leaves 4 sons, David J. Gabis and his wife Patricia of Cheybongan, MI, Donald R. Gabis and his wife Marie of Templeton, Robert C. Gabis of Baldwinville and Michael R. Gabis of Gardner; 1 daughter, Barbara J. Gabis of Gardner; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Leo and Rudy Vallee; and 3 sisters, Alda Porko, Maryange Fuller and Laura Soderman.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 1st from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday, April 30th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
