Jean J. "Jay" Bigeau, Jr., 54, of 44 Sand Street, Gardner, died peacefully Wednesday, December 2nd in his residence, surrounded by family following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Leominster on January 16, 1955, he was the son of the late Jean J. Bigeau, Sr. and Gertrude (St. Martin) Bigeau.
Jay was an electrician employed by Sunny Delight Co. of Littleton for the past two years. He was previously employed by Mohawk C.D.T. of Leominster
Jay graduated from Leominster Technical School with the Class of 1973.
He was a member of St. Cecilia's Church, Leominster. Jay was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 747 of Gardner.
Jay's hobbies included snowmobiles, cooking, watching the cooking channel on television and fishing. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Miami Dolphins. He most enjoyed spending time with his family, which included his companion of 12 years, his dog Abby.
Jay leaves his sweetheart of eleven years, whom he married on October 25, 2009, Leona E. (Gallant) Bigeau of Gardner; one stepson, Zachary Savoie of Gardner; four brothers, Donald R. Bigeau and his wife Karen of Hudson, David A. Bigeau of Leominster, Gerald P. Bigeau of Taunton and Claude D. "Buddy" Bigeau of New Hampshire; four sisters, Teresa G. Hibbert and her husband David of Leominster, Elaine C. LaBreck of Waterville, Maine, Lee A. Bigeau of Templeton and Claudine T. Haas and her husband Robert of Leominster; two aunts, Mary Nourse of Sterling and Jeanette Hudson of Shelby, NC; one uncle, Richard St. Martin of Sterling; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one sister, Cheryl A. Bigeau who died in 1995.
Calling hours in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner will be held Saturday, December 5th from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
