Jean A. "Jack" Bernard, 74, of 18 Kurikka Place, Westminster, died Thursday, August 28th in his residence.
Born in Winchendon on September 17, 1933, he was the son of the late Arthur A. and Dora M. (Launier) Bernard.
Jack was employed by Nichols and Stone Co. of Gardner as a finisher for eighteen years, retiring in 1999. He was previously employed for twenty-eight years by Heywood Wakefield Co. of Gardner.
Jack attended high school at Eymard Seminary in Supperen, N.Y., formerly of Barre, MA.
He enjoyed making airplane models and doing crossword puzzles. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
Jack was a United States Air Force Veteran and received the Good Conduct Medal. He also served in Massachusetts National Guard for three years, prior to joining the Air Force.
He leaves his wife of 48 years, Darlene (Martin) Bernard of Westminster; one son, Jeffrey E. Bernard of Westminster; three brothers, Robert Bernard of Duanesburg, NY, Paul Bernard of Delansin, NY and Fr. Andre Bernard of Phoenix, AZ; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Roland Bernard and by one sister, Marie Dreaulus.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 3rd at 1:00 p.m. in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Road, Winchendon.
There are no calling hours.
