Jason L. "Jay" Dell, 46, of Hubbardston, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016 in Heywood Hospital of Gardner, after being stricken ill at home.
Born in Gardner on May 20, 1969, he was the son of Scott Tourtellot and Susan (Leroy) (Tourtellot) Barnard.
For the past eight years, Jason was a Mail Carrier employed by the United States Postal Service in Holden. He was previously employed by CVS Pharmacy as a Manager at several locations.
Jason graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1987.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 2 in Barre, MA
He was a devoted member of Covenant Evangelical Church in Barre, MA.
Jason was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing with his buddy Jeff and nephew Tyler and camping with family and friends. He loved gardening at home and especially at the Victory Garden at his church. He loved bonfires on Friday nights with his wife and children.
Jason leaves his beloved wife of 15 years, Nicole M. (Canavan) Dell of Hubbardston; one son, Jeremy Dell of Gardner; three daughters, Amanda Foresman and her husband Ross of Westminster, Lauren Dell and Sophia Dell both of Hubbardston; father, Scott Tourtellot and his wife Susan (Kuchta) of Oakham, mother, Susan (Leroy) (Tourtellot) Barnard and her husband Charles of Hubbardston; one brother, Christopher Tourtellot of Honolulu, Hawaii; two sisters, Angela Tourtellot of Florida and Micaela Tourtellot of Oakham; step-brother, Charles Barnard, Jr of Ashburnham; step-sister, Kelly Barnard and her significant other, Scott Belliveau of E. Templeton; former step-mother, Pamela Dell of Sterling; his in-laws, James and Nancy Canavan of Holden; two grandchildren, Owen and Aiden Foresman; special aunt, Nancy Dell of Gardner; several additional aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his step-father Richard Dell and cousin Adam Gallant.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 2nd at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Friday, April 1st from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
