Janice Pearl Wheeler

Janice Pearl Wheeler, 71, of Amherst, formerly of Gardner and Westfield, died peacefully Tuesday, December 21, 2021, in Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Northampton.

Born in Gardner on January 17, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Leonard A. and Claire V. (Caouette) Wheeler.

Janice was a parishioner of Newman Center in Amherst. She enjoyed playing cards, games, working on puzzles and dancing. Janice had an infectious laugh and enjoyed joking and making others laugh as well.

Janice is survived by her sister, Joyce Wheeler and her husband Michael of Naples, FL; a brother, Gordon Wheeler of Naples, FL; five nephews, Brian Wheeler and his wife Karessa of Michigan, David Wheeler and his wife Trisha of New Hampshire, Matthew Wirzbicki and his wife Sonia of Oregon, Daniel Wirzbicki of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Michael Wirzbicki (deceased), and several cousins.

The family would especially like to thank the staff of her group home for the loving and exceptional care they provided Janice throughout the years.

A private funeral service and burial will be held in the spring for close family.
