Janice M. Scott

Janice M. (Bourgeois) Scott, 71, of Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, September 23, 2023, in UMass Memorial HealthAlliance Hospital, Leominster Campus, after an illness, with her family by her side.

Born on August 14, 1952, she was the daughter of the late David and Atta (Smith) Bourgeois. She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1971. Janice was a nurse’s aide for LaChance Rehab, formally Eastwood Pines and a paraprofessional for CAPS Collaborative at Gardner High School which she retired from in 2008.

Janice was very creative in her knitting and crocheting, often making gifts for others. She was an avid reader, loved shopping on Amazon, watching Lifetime and Hallmark movies and soap operas but she mostly cherished her time spent with her family, especially her six grandchildren.

Janice is survived by her husband of 52 years, Walter Scott of Gardner; three children, Wendie LeBlanc and her husband Marc of Templeton and their children Leah and Kyle LeBlanc, Marty Scott and his wife Amy of Winchendon and their children, Kaitlyn and Kai Scott, Jeffrey Scott and his wife Sarah of Hubbardston and their children Alyssa and Riley Scott; a sister, Judith Forrester of Gardner; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and friends. 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two nephews, Billy Forrester, and Peter Scott; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Forrester, and Mark Scott; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bessie and Hilary Scott.  

A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in Pine Grove Cemetery, Patriots Road (Rt. 2A), Templeton, MA 01468.
